Vests and Vests and Vests Oh My!

Okay.. So I was never one to LOVE vests. As a young tot, of course I was put in hot pink sparkly vests every time the weather was under 40 degrees, but I never quite saw the appeal as a young lady to wear boxy outerwear. And then I came in to a whole new world when I discovered the beautiful vests available, the lovely layering that can be created with vests, and the thousands upon thousands of pictures on Pinterest featuring J Crew vests. At the beginning of this fall season I decided to invest in my very own navy J Crew vest and I have won it at least one day a week (let's be real, probably two.. maybe even three days some weeks!). It has become a huge staple piece in my fall wardrobe and everyone compliments me on my vest and how put together I look when to be honest, I'm only wearing jeans, a long sleeve shirt and my vest. I have officially decided that I need a quilted vest in every single available neutral color and fully believe that this is a necessity.

The Navy J Crew vest is of course very near and dear to my heart with the attention to detail, but there are other more price conscious options such as the army green Old Navy vest that is currently only $25! Truth be told, it is not the price or brand of the vest that matters, its simply how you style it!

Until next time my classy chicks!

Golf Day with Dad

Hello my classy friends! So as we know most of our loving and caring dads love the one sport the people of all ages can play... golf! Perhaps some dads would like to have a day to themselves and play alone on Father's Day, but I know Dads like mine love to have some company. Well, for those of you who maybe play once a year, what do you wear? How do you know what you can get by with and what is in fashion for golfers today? Well today I chose a cute and appropriate outfit from items that could be found in an average wardrobe for all of you needing a little inspiration for your spontaneous afternoon golf outing.

The shirt is a simple black collared and sleeveless shirt by Calloway. If you are not an everyday golfer like I am and don't own any collared shirts, any nice looking and conservative shirt (like this https://www.vineyardvines.com/womens-tops/bow-sleeveless-tunic-top/2W0348,default,pd.html?dwvar_2W0348_color=100&start=3&cgid=Womens-Shirts-Tunics) should work just fine, but be sure to check with the golf club for any dress code restrictions! My shorts are from Vineyard Vines and have an excellent fit for golf. Shorts that aren't skin tight feel so much better to play golf in and look better too! I had my hair pulled up (which sadly is a must!) and simple pearl earrings to add a girly touch. I wore my Nike Embellish golf shoes, but if you don't have golf shoes, tennis shoes are the next best thing! I know.. tennis shoes? They're not very fashion forward, but, again, comfortable walking shoes that you can swing a club in are a must while playing golf!
With a bit of searching through your closet, you can look like you know what you're doing on your special Father's Day golfing with dad even if you have no idea how to swing a club!

A Little About Lauren

Hello my classy friends! Since this is my first post I thought that it would be best for me to introduce myself. I am a preppy, sassy golfer who has been born and raised in the south. I have competed in pageants for many years and still continue to compete on occasion. I love reading, learning, and travelling and strive every day to experience something new. I am also a self proclaimed food addict who constantly bakes and subject my family and friends to trying new recipes with me. I am also a constant shopper and who really works hard in order to have the best and more diverse wardrobe in my budget. I hope that we both enjoy my little blogging adventure and that you stop by again periodically for fashion and lifestyle blogs from the beautiful South.
Until I blog again,
Lauren
